   Appointment of Ms. Diane Quarless, Director of ECLAC Sub-Regional HQ

At the Fifteenth Meeting of the Monitoring Committee of the Caribbean Development and Cooperation Committee, convened by the Economic Commission of Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) the new Director of the Subregional Headquarters in Port of Spain was named. Executive Secretary of ECLAC Ms. Bárcena announced the appointment of Ms. Diane Quarless, who is the former Chief of the Small Islands Developing States Unit in the Department of Economic and Social Affairs of the United Nations.

 

Ms. Quarless, assumed duties on 2 November 2011 and look forwards to exploring ways in which ECLAC, along with other UN agencies, can better support member States of the region in addressing development imperatives at both national and regional levels.
