Helen Clark makes Opening Remarks at the Democracy and Gender Equality Roundtable

A high level roundtable discussion was held in UN Headquarters whereby women and issues towards democracy and gender equality was discussed. Present at the meeting were UN Secretary-General Ban Ki Moon, UN Under Secretaries General Helen Clark and Michelle Bachelet, along with the International IDEA's Secretary General Vidar Helgensen. Panel themes included but were not limited to; political participation, representation and gender, gender responsive accountability systems and democracy.
