Revolving Art Project

The art of Trinidad and Tobago is a reflection of the vibrancy, talent, diversity and entrepreneurship of the people. These are all values that the United Nations Development Programme holds dear.

UNDP has embarked in an initiative to promote local emerging artists. Solo art exhibitions are being organized at UN House, 3 Chancery Lane Port of Spain.

The aim of such an initiative is to provide exposure to local artists and increase the levels of awareness regarding the role and future potential that this industry plays in the promotion of the country through tourism and sustainable livelihoods.

UNDP has had a long history of support to the art community in Trinidad and Tobago. More recently the organization has been instrumental in the support and promotion of "Calypso at Dirty Jims". This CD and DVD showcased the remarkable musical talents of the people of Trinidad and Tobago dating back from the roaring twenties when Calypso was king to the brand new genre of Soca.

Our next installation in the revolving art series is scheduled to begin in March.

All art is available for sale directly through the artist.
