  TTCIC and CSR Committee Meeting with Ministers and UNDP:
CSR and Government: By Stander, Follower or Leader?

On Tuesday 11th October 2011, members of the CSR Committee will host a breakfast session with various Ministers alongside UNDP to raise the awareness of the role of Government in CSR, in keeping with one of the Committee’s focal areas of advocacy.
 
CSR Breakfast Session to be held on 11th October 2011.
Ministers are from the Ministry of Trade and Industry, the Ministry of Housing and the Environment and the Ministry of the People and Social Development.

 

Ministers will be discussing the following areas:

  • The perspectives of the government on its role in CSR – bystander, follower or leader?

  • The roles that they see for their particular Ministry

  • What plans if any, are already on the table from Government in relation to CSR?

  • National CSR Policy

Objectives of the Session are to:

  • Highlight the government’s understanding of corporate social responsibility and sustainabilityp>

  • Highlight the government’s commitment to corporate social responsibility and sustainability

  • Stimulate productive discussions between stakeholders and the government

  • Highlight the government’s concrete ‘Next Steps’ in CSR
