Caribbean Human Development Report 2012 Launched in Port of Spain8 February 2012
On 8 February 2012 the 2012 Caribbean Human Development Report (CHDR), the first of its kind in the region, was launched at the National Academy for Performing Arts in Port of Spain. Present were the Honourable Kamla Persad-Bissessar, Prime Minister of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, Ms. Helen Clark, Under-Secretary General of the United Nations and UNDP Administrator, Mr. Heraldo Munoz, Assistant Secretary General of the United Nations and Regional Director for Latin America and the Caribbean and Dr. Marcia de Castro, UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative of Trinidad and Tobago, Aruba, Curacao, Sint Maarten and Suriname.
Presentation of the 2012 CHDR was done by Mr. Munoz followed by remarks on Human Development and Citizen Security by Ms. Clark and a presentation entitled "Citizen Security at Work in Trinidad and Tobago" by the Honourable Kamla Persad-Bissessar. A vote of thanks by Dr. de Castro followed with a reception and press conference after.
