Consultation on the Caribbean Human Development Report
on Citizen Security held in Tobago


The UNDP’s Caribbean Human Development Report (CHDR) on Citizen Security caravan flew into Tobago on Friday the 5th August, 2011. The purpose was to hold a public consultation as UNDP prepares to publicly release a draft of this regional report for a last round of comments on September 6th, 2011 in a

 meeting to be held in Port of Spain.

 

UNDP Deputy Resident Representative for Trinidad and Tobago Edo Stork lead the discussions held at the Tobago House of Assembly’s Division of Infrastructure and Public Utilities auditorium in Tobago. Also present on behalf of UNDP were Ms. Alana Wheeler, National Coordinator of the CHDR report and Mr. Kevin Garcia, UNDP CHDR Communications Consultant.

 

The audience featured persons from the private sector, Hotel and Tourism sector, Tobago House of Assembly and NGOs. The chapters of the report and the preliminary main messages of the report were highlighted in the presentation by Mr Stork. Participants were able to validate the findings and encouraged to make further comments and suggestions from the Tobago perspective.
